After the web service returns an answer, the answer is checked if it's valid. If the answer is valid, I want to close some other windows. The problem is, if the timer runs the web service, it also runs the checking code in the answer. And since the answer is supposed to be valid, it should skip the check. Is there a way I can avoid doing the check when the answer returned is valid? A: You are currently running a timer on the UI thread, which will result in a lot of problems if you did that. One option would be to run a seperate thread, with a callback, which you call back to from the UI thread, when the answer is valid.
